When I was younger, I believed that it was unnecessary to invest in a quality cleanser to cleanse my face. My idea behind this was that a cleanser doesn't stay on the skin, unlike creams, serums, or toners. So, I didn't see the need for it to be of exceptional quality. I was completely wrong because a cleanser, even if it doesn't stay on the skin, can cause damage.
A good example
A good example would be shampoo. Even if you remove it, it can cause dryness, eczema, an itchy scalp, and make your hair coarser and drier if it's poor quality. Well, the same goes for your skin.
Conventional products
When I say poor quality, I'm referring to conventional products. The ingredients chosen are among the most irritating. These have very good foaming properties, which consumers are used to, but they are also very detergent. They are inexpensive for the companies that use them, so their profit is very interesting. But the worst of the worst would be to use bar soap to clean your face, because its pH is more alkaline compared to the pH of the face, which is acidic.
Effects on the skin
Abrasive cleansers have repercussions on the skin; dryness, increased sebum production to counter the effect of dryness (see a vicious circle), premature aging of the skin, irritation, allergy, dermatitis and so on.
I only use natural products
For my part, I only use natural products for my skin and hair, even for cleansers. I have seen a huge difference. Having fine, curly hair, before using natural shampoos, it was always frizzy on the top of my head and my ends were very dry. My scalp itched and I was constantly scratching. Now, I have beautiful, healthy hair and I no longer have any itching problems. Same thing for my face, I am in my fifties and even though I am currently in the middle of hormonal changes, I manage the dryness of my skin well.
Trust me, by investing in good natural cleansers, your skin will thank you. They're more expensive to buy, but you won't have to buy additional products to compensate for the damage caused by conventional cleansers.
